Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Privacy Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal counsel to clients on privacy-related matters, including compliance with U.S. and international data protection laws. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys in a fast-growing and evolving area of law.

Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on compliance with data privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regulations.
Draft and review privacy policies, terms of service, and data processing agreements.
Conduct risk assessments and data protection impact assessments.
Assist clients in responding to data breaches, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions.
Provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices and incident response planning.
Monitor and interpret developments in data privacy laws and advise clients accordingly.
Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective data governance programs.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in at least one state bar, with the ability to practice in Virginia .
Minimum of 2 years of experience in data privacy law, cybersecurity law, or a related field.
Experience drafting and negotiating data protection agreements.
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
