Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Privacy Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal counsel to clients on privacy-related matters, including compliance with U.S. and international data protection laws. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys in a fast-growing and evolving area of law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on compliance with data privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regulations.
  • Draft and review privacy policies, terms of service, and data processing agreements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and data protection impact assessments.
  • Assist clients in responding to data breaches, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions.
  • Provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices and incident response planning.
  • Monitor and interpret developments in data privacy laws and advise clients accordingly.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective data governance programs.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in at least one state bar, with the ability to practice in Virginia .
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data privacy law, cybersecurity law, or a related field.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating data protection agreements.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
