Position Overview
The Facilities/Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of the facility, ensuring that all systems are functional, safe, and compliant with regulatory standards. This role includes managing a team, coordinating vendor services, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to enhance the overall efficiency of facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure the facility is running smoothly and safely.
  • Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards across all facility operations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors for outsourced maintenance services.
  • Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate facility projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement energy management strategies to reduce costs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in facilities management or maintenance, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management for facility operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

Benefits

Employees participate in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and have the option to enroll in the agency's deferred compensation plan. In addition to WA Paid Sick Leave, employees in this position, accrue nineteen (19) days of Paid Time Off (152 hours) in their first year and receive ten (10) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
