Position Overview:

The Heavy Civil Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with heavy civil construction projects. This role will require strong construction knowledge, project management skills, and proficiency in various software programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil construction, strong attention to detail, and be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans and specifications to accurately estimate project costs
• Prepare and submit bids for heavy civil construction projects
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to determine project requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Create and maintain project cost tracking sheets and reports
• Utilize software programs such as MS Office, MS Projects, Trimble, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Bid2win to complete estimates
• Perform quality assurance and inspection during the bidding process to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary project information
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and pricing to ensure competitive bidding
• Participate in project kick-off meetings to review estimates and provide support to project teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Projects, Trimble, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Bid2win software
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience with QA and inspection processes
