Position Overview
Having been in business since the early 1900's we are one of Baltimore's largest Civil Construction companies seeking to bring on a experienced Sr. Estimator. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for civil construction projects, particularly in the areas of stormwater management, sewer and water utilities, and paving. The Sr. Estimator will work with VP/Chief Estimator to ensure that projects are accurately estimated and delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, focusing on stormwater, sewer, and water utility work.
Analyze project plans and specifications to identify key elements affecting costs.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to identify the best options for project execution.
Maintain and update a database of labor rates, material costs, and equipment costs to ensure accurate estimates.
Prepare and present estimates and budgets to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in cost projections.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for civil construction projects, with a strong focus on stormwater and sewer utilities.
Proficient in using estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Primavera, or similar applications.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations specific to stormwater and sewer projects.
Must have solid experience with Estimating software (prefer Heavybid) and blueprint reading.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey estimates and collaborate with team members.
